SHARKS4KIDS VISITS

Sharks4Kids is available for visits and educational tours in-person and online.

Our shark educators can meet (in-person or online) with students/educators in classrooms, community groups, and organizations. The goal of the virtual or in-person presentation is to engage students and get them excited about sharks. We want to dispel some myths surrounding these amazing animals while encouraging kids to be good junior scientists and global citizens; what they do matters, and they can make a difference for sharks no matter who they are or where they live. Lessons are available for students K-12 (ages 4-18).

What does an in-person classroom visit include?

One of our shark educators can provide your classroom with an engaging and exciting visit. We offer a dynamic range of lessons that can be adapted to any age group. Topics of discussion include the following: introduction to sharks, shark conservation, shark tagging, and science, life as a marine biologist, shark superpowers (adaptations), predator-prey systems, shark diving, and underwater filming, tracking sharks, and an interactive 'How to Tag a Shark' lesson.

What does an online virtual lesson include?

Wherever you are, you can connect with Sharks4Kids through a virtual lesson. We offer a dynamic range of online lessons that can be adapted to any age group. We can connect via Zoom, Skype, Teams or Meet. Digital files (PDF) are available for download to coincide with the lesson plan. Topics of discussion include the following: introduction to sharks, shark conservation, shark tagging and science, life as a marine biologist, shark superpowers (adaptations), predator-prey systems, shark diving and underwater filming, tracking sharks, and an interactive 'How to Tag a Shark' lesson.

What is an in-person Shark Education Tour?

Each 'Shark Education Tour' is customized to suit the needs of the particular school or group we are visiting. We work with you to involve the whole community. We provide school presentations, school workshops, and evening presentations.  We typically spend 3 to 7 days in an area, working with schools, local organizations, and community leaders to speak to as many people as possible. We have led Shark Education Tours in Arkansas, North Carolina, Florida, St. Eustatius, Ontario, Guatemala, Arizona, Saba, St. Maarten, Spain, Singapore, The Bahamas, and Turks and Caicos. To coordinate a Shark Education Tour please swim over to our CONTACT page to send us a message or email us directly:  info@sharks4kids.com

What if I would like you to visit my Organization or Community Group?

Sharks4Kids is happy to provide the same in-person or virtual visit to your organization or community group! We can adapt the shark lesson to your age group and offer the same topics we have available for our classroom visits.

"Thank you so much for spending the time with our scholars to learn about sharks. You have inspired so many students to want to make the world a safe and better place for them as well as helped create some future scientists! This year has been very difficult learning virtually in the pandemic so the time you spent with them is a priceless memory of joy to end their year." - Nina M. (Grade 3)
